The Citizen’s Council of the National Journalism Award 2021 in Mexico recognised nine journalistic works among 1,015 entries from 31 states, most of which address the issue of the disappearance of people and the struggle of the mothers of victims.
In the Reporting category, “Traficantes de ADN” (DNA Traffickers) was awarded, by Wendy Selene Pérez Becerra, Paula Mónaco Felipe, Luis Brito and Miguel Tovar, edited by Francisco Sandoval Alarcón and Guillermo Sánchez Cervantes, published in Aristegui Noticias, Gatopardo, Pie de Página and 14 other media.
