Our group work “Los jornaleros forenses” was distinguished with the 2019 National Journalism Prize of Mexico, in the chronicle-narrative journalism category. It is the most important award given to the press in Mexico, but there is no place for celebrations when we have at least 77,000 missing people in recent years, when the portrayed diggers continue opening the land to search for loved ones, longed for. However, the award does endorse our commitment to continue showing debts, pains, injuries and also feeds the hope: this nightmare will end. “I hope it serves to continue spreading,” told us the diggers when they noticed of the award.
Hopefully we also live a fairer country and world.
