Metallic bags glitter outside every kiosk in Guatemala. In a country where child malnutrition coexists with malnutrition, transnational corporations seduce children with fried foods and soft drinks. They replace the ancestral corn and, bag by bag, bottle by bottle, they build a sick future.A chronicle that results from a visit to indigenous villages in Guatemala, around Lake Atitlan, where the ultra-processed products are building their food swamps. A surprise, a disturbing experience that became words to be published on the bocado network, in 8 media of the continent.
